The two-day Big Garden Party music festival will open Saturday at Vidas Art Arena (Sofia Velodrome), organisers Fest Team said Saturday.

The Sofia event will offer three stages and more than 12 hours of daily music, games, theatre, comedy and culinary challenges.

Apollo 440 will launch the programme on May 31. The British band blend electronic sound with rock energy, a style recognised since the 1990s, and hits such as Ain’t Talkin’ ’bout Dub and Stop the Rock have featured in films including Charlie’s Angels and Lost in Space.

Morcheeba will follow, with Sky Edwards’ gentle voice leading trip-hop favourites The Sea and Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day to close the first day.

The festival resumes Sunday, June 1, with Dutch outfit Kraak & Smaak, whose live sets mix DJ work with instruments and vocals.

Natalie Imbruglia will headline the final evening, performing Torn and new material from her album Firebird after her 2022 victory on The Masked Singer UK.

The programme also includes theatre shows, children’s workshops, stand-up and art installations. On both days Petar Baykov will present his live version of Snow White, followed by the premiere of his original story Grimkhild, a prequel to the Evil Queen, Snow White’s stepmother.
